An Algerian woman raped, tortured and murdered a 12-year-old girl after a dispute with the child's mother, a court heard today in a case that has shocked France.

Dahbia Benkired, 27, is accused of luring Lola Daviet to her death, partially severing her head before suffocating her, after the girl's mother refused to give her a pass key to an apartment block.

Investigators say Benkired slashed the schoolgirl with scissors and a box cutter then bound her up in duct tape, including around her face, leading to her death by asphyxia.

Depraved Benkired admitted in court today that she forced the young girl to undress and wash herself, then perform a sex act on her 'for my pleasure'.

The presiding judge of the Assize Court told the jurors that Lola's 'head was partially severed' at the neck.

In October 2022, Lola's body was found in a trunk in the lobby of the building where her father and mother worked as caretakers.

Building residents saw Benkired in the lobby of the apartment block in the 19th district, carrying suitcases and a heavy trunk covered in a blanket, the investigation showed.

An hour and a half earlier, security footage showed Benkired approaching the girl as she returned from school, then leading her into the flat her sister occupied in the building.

She placed the body in a trunk and exited the building, pausing outside a cafe, where she told a client who suspected something strange in her luggage that she was 'selling a kidney', investigators said.

She then convinced a friend to drive her and the bags to his home, before taking a taxi with the trunk back to the building where her sister lived.

She fled when she saw police deployed in the area, but was arrested the next day.

A police investigation revealed that a pair of scissors, an oyster knife and an IKEA knife were found in Benkired's flat with traces of blood.

The Algerian woman had a tough upbringing with aunts before she settled in France in 2013, the investigation showed.

She told the court that she had been abused by family and neighbours as she grew up, claiming her aunts 'forced her to watch pornographic films... and groped her in the forest.'

It was reported at the time of the killing that she was was the subject of an expulsion order, prompting stinging criticism from the right and one of the most bitter political debates in recent memory.

ናይጄሪያ 230 ሚሊዮን ህዝብ ያላት የምዕራብ አፍሪካ ሀገር ነች። የሙስሊሞች ቁጥር ከክርስቲያኖች ትንሽ ከፍ ያለ ነው። በሀገሪቱ ሰሜናዊ ክፍል ውስጥ የተከማቸ ሲሆን ጥብቅ የሸሪዓ ህግጋትን ያከብሩታል በተለይም በፈረንሳይ እና አረብ ሃገራት የሚደገፈው የአሸባሪው ሚሊሻ ቦኮ ሃራም እ.አ.አ ከ2009 ጀምሮ ክልሉን እንዲቆጣጠር ተደርጓል። በደቡቡ ደግሞ የክርስትና እምነት ተከታዮች ናቸው የበላይነት ያላቸው።

ከቅርብ ዓመታት ወዲህ ከናይጄሪያ የተውጣጡ በርካታ ሪፖርቶች እና የዜና ዘገባዎች በክርስቲያኖች ላይ ረጅም ተከታታይ ጥቃቶችን አጉልተው ያሳዩ ሲሆን ይህንም የአውሮፓ እና የአሜሪካ ሜዲያ ችላ በማለት ተወንጅሏል። ባለፈው ሳምንት የዶናልድ ትራምፕ አስተዳደር በናይጄሪያ በክርስቲያኖች ላይ “ዘር ማጥፋት” ፈፅሟል ሲል ከስሷል።

እኔ በአንድ በተሰወረብኝ ጦማር እ.አ.አ ከ2009 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ በናይጄሪያ እና ግብጽ ክርስቲያኖች ላይ ሙስሊሞች ስለሚፈጽሟቸው ከባባድ አድሎዎችና በደሎች ይህንም አስመልክቶ በተለይ የኢትዮጵያ ክርስቲያኖች ግንባር ቀደም ሚና በመጫወት ከሚሰደዱ ክርስቲያን ወንድሞቻቸውና እኅቶቻቸው ጎን በአደባባይ መቆም እንዳለባቸበየጊዜው መረጃ ሳቀብል ቆይቻለሁ።

ዛሬ በሃገራችንም የዋቄዮ-አላህ-ሉሲፈር ባሪያዎች ጀነሳይዱን በማጧጧፍ ላይ ናቸው። በጣም የሚያንገበግበኝ እና የሚያስቆጣኝ "ክርስቲያን ነን፣ ኢትዮጵያውያን ነን!” የሚሉት ወገኖች ባለፉት አምስት ዓመታት ብቻ ከአንድ ሚሊየን በላይ ኦርቶዶክስ ክርስቲያን ወገኖቻችን በሃይማኖታቸው ምክኒያት መጨፍጨፋቸውን ለመላው ዓለም ለማሳወቅ አለመቻላቸው/አለመፈለጋቸው ነው። ዓለምም ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ክርስቲያኖች ዕጣ ፈንታ ዝም ያለበት ምክኒያት ይህ ነው። እራሳችን ለራሳችን ወገን ካልቆምን እግዚአብሔርም ዓለምም ከእኛ ጋር አይሁኑም፣ በቃ ተረስተን እንቀራለን። እስኪ እናስበው ከአንድ ሚሊየን በላይ ክርስቲያን ወገናችን ተገድሎ ሁሉም በጋር ዝም ጭጭ ብለው ለማይረባ ከንቱ ነገር እና ለተሰጣቸው አጀንዳ ግን ሌት ተቀን ጊዚያቸውን፣ ጉልበታቸውንና ገንዘባቸውን በከንቱ ያባክናሉ።

😔 The ever barbaric soldiers of the fascist Oromo Islamic Regime of the Nobel Peace Laureate, Abiy Ahmed Ali, killed and mutilated a breast of a fallen Fano combatant in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.

She is identified as Fanit Balem, and was a member of Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) West Zone, Ras Bitwoded Mengesha Antikem Division, and Arenzaw Damot Brigade.

According to sources, she was a member of the commando unit of the Fano forces operating in the Gojjam area.

AFPF alleges that “government forces naked the body of Fanit Balem, pulled a knife, mutilated her breast, skinned her and three her breast on the Asphalt road.”

The Fano forces cited conventions about war. “Let alone a dead body, captured soldiers should be treated humanely and handed over to humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross,” it said.

Notably, Fano forces handed over about 16 wounded soldiers, from the operations in North Wollo, to ICRC.

The image of Fanit Alem has been trending on social media platforms among Ethiopian users. The story had stirred more anger against the defense force and the ruling prosperity party.

The Ethiopian Defense Force has not remarked about that incident. Human Rights organizations operating in the country have not yet remarked about it too.

There had been recurring incidents of verified egregious human rights violations including extrajudicial killings by the Ethiopian Defense Forces in the Amhara region of Ethiopia over the past two years.

There were instances when bodies like the United Nations Human Rights, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch issued a statement in connection with the killings of non-combatants due to the conflict in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.

The Fano forces operating in the region have reportedly launched what is said to be a retaliatory offensive targeting several locations in the Gojjam area.
