ሦስት መስቀሎች ናቸው፤ ሁለቱ መስቀሎች ሽፍታዎቹ የተሰቀሉባቸው ሲሆኑ አንዱ የጌታችን ነው፤ ታዲያ እንዴት ለየችው ቢሉ የጌታችን መስቀል ታላላቅ ተዓምራትን አድርጓል ድውይ ፈውሷል ዓይ ነስውር አብርቷል።

ይህንን ቀን ቅድስት ቤተክርስቲያን "መስቀለ እየሱስ" ስትል ታከብረዋለች፤ በዛሬዋ ቀን ዝማሬው፤

ምስጋናው፤ ትምህርቱ፤ ቅዳሴው ፤ ንባቡ ሁሉም መስቀልን የሚመለከቱ ናቸው።

♱ እንደ ኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን እምነት የእውነተኛው መስቀል ግኝት በመጋቢት ወር ነው ተብሎ ቢታመንም መስቀል ግን በዐቢይ ጾም ወቅት በዓል እንዳይከበር ወደ መስከረም ተወስዷል።

♱ Tonight and tomorrow we Ethiopian Orthodox Christians celebrate The Feast Day which marks the discovery of The True Cross of Jesus Christ.

The discovery of this revered relic within Christianity can be traced back to the fourth (4th) century when the mother of the Roman Emperor Constantine, Queen Helena received divine guidance to its location.

According to legend, Queen Helena, now canonized, had a dream. In the dream, she was told to make a bonfire from which the smoke would show her the location where the True Cross of Jesus was buried.

After doing as she was instructed and the bonfire lit, the smoke rose high up to the sky and returned to the ground, exactly where the Cross had been buried. Thus began the yearly celebration of the discovery.

According to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the discovery of the True Cross is traditionally believed to have been in March, but Meskel was moved to September to avoid holding a festival during Lent, and because the church commemorating the True Cross in Jerusalem was dedicated during September.

• ግንባር ማማተቢያ ጣት የሚያርፍበት ፤ ወይም የመስቀል ምልክት ዕመት የሚደረግበት። እረኛው ላውሬ የወረወረው ደንጊያ አቶ እከሌን መስቀሉን አለው ።

• የክርስቶስ መስቀል በኹለት ረዣዥም ዕንጨት እጅና እግሩ የተቸነከረበት ከራሱ እስከ እግሩ ወራጅ ግንድ ከቀኝ እጁ ወደ ግራ እጁ ከአግዳሚውም ግንድ ባራት ማዕዘን ተመሳቅሎ የሚታየው መስቀልኛ ዕንጨት።

• ሐዋርያ መስቀል ትርፍ ነገር ትርፍ ቅርጽ የሌለው ልሙጥ መስቀል።

• ሕማማተ መስቀል የክርስቶስ ልዩ ልዩ መከራው በጥፊ መመታቱ መታሠሩ መገረፉ ግንድ መሸከሙ ራቁቱን መሰቀሉ አክሊለ ሦክ የሾክ አክሊል በራሱ ላይ መቀዳጀቱ ይኸንን የመሳሰለ ልዩ ልዩ መከራው ሕማማተ መስቀል ይባላል።

• ልዩ ልዩ መስቀል የመስቀል ዐይነት ኹኖ በልዩ ልዩ አቀራረጽ በልዩ ልዩ ሥራ ተሠርቶ የሚታየውን በየሥዕሉ ማሳየት።

• ቀራንዮ መስቀል በቀራንዮ ክርስቶስ የተሰቀለበት ዋነኛው የቀራንዮ መስቀል።

• ቀርነ በግዕዝ መስቀል እንደ በግ ቀንድ ኹኖ በተሠራው መስቀል በመጽሐፍ ድጕሰት ላይ የሚታይ ቆለፍ ቆለፍ ያለ።

• ትእምርተ መስቀል የመስቀል ምልክት ወይም መስቀልኛ።

• ነገረ መስቀል የመስቀልን ነገር መነጋገር መሥራት ማሳየት።

• ዕርባን ሥራ መስቀል ብሩ ወርቁ በልዩ ልዩ አቀራረጽና ንቅስ ተነቅሶ በሙሻ ዘርየሚሠራ ዕርባን ሥራ ንቅስ መስቀል።

• ዕርፈ መስቀል ማንካ ቀሳውስት ለሚቆርቡ ምዕመናን ደሙን የሚያቀብሉበት ማንካ በቤተ ክርስቲያን የሚኖር ዕርፈ መስቀል ይባላል።

• የመስቀል አበባ በዘመነ ጽጌ የሚፈነዳው አበባ እንደ መስቀል ቅርጽና መልክ ያለው የመስቀል አበባ ይባላል።

• የመስቀል ዎፍ ጥቍር ሰማያዊ የምትመስል በመስከረም በመስቀል በዐል ብቅ የምትል ድንቢጥ የመስከረም ዎፍ ትባላለች።

• የመስቀል ደመራ በመስከረም ፲፮ ቀን ለመስቀል ዋዜማ ሕዝብ ኹሉ ርጥብ ዕንጨትን እያመጣ የሚደምረው ደመራ።

In 2001, the original Cross was stolen. Two years later, a new Cross, carved from stone quarried below the Col de la Core on the Seix side, was erected in the same place.

The work is by Thierry Galey, a resident of Samortein-en-Bethmale and a draughtsman in the aeronautical industry in Toulouse. In 2004, this new Cross was blessed by Abbé Jean Fauroux, who was already known for blessing the Cross on Mont Valier. At the time, the mayor of Bethmale was confident: “The perpetrators had better arm themselves with chisels and hammers to tear it down.„

It appears from the report that the original cross was stolen and replacement carved out of the bedrock was arrested in 2001.
