US President Donald Trump
has removed a social media video which included a racist clip
depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes.
The clip - set to the song
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - was at the end of a 62-second video he
shared containing claims about voter fraud in the 2020 presidential
election.
Republican Senator Tim
Scott - who is black - had called for the president to remove the
post, describing it as "the most racist thing I've seen out of
this White House".
The White House initially
defended the clip as an "internet meme video" and told
critics to "stop the fake outrage".
After a growing backlash,
including from several Republican senators, the post was removed from
Trump's Truth Social account and a White House official said that a
staffer had "erroneously" made the post.
The clip - which recalls
racist caricatures comparing black people to monkeys - appears to be
taken from an X post shared by conservative meme creator Xerias in
October.
That video also depicts
several other high-profile Democrats as animals, including New York
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York City Mayor Zohran
Mamdani and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Trump's predecessor in the
White House, Joe Biden, is also depicted as an ape eating a banana.
The Obamas have yet to
comment on the video.

The clip belongs to a pro-Trump account on X but was

swipe at the Obama family sparked widespread condemnation across the
political divide.
'Disgusting behavior by the President,'
wrote California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office wrote on X.
'Every single Republican must denounce this. Now.'
It is
unclear if Trump was aware of the Obama imagery. Soon after he posted
a video detailing the history of the black conservative movement in
the GOP.
Trump's longstanding feud with Barack Obama stretches
back decades, beginning when he first promoted claims that the 44th
president was born outside the United States.

There is no record of him setting foot on the African Continent.

visiting evil Arabia in May, just a month ago President Trump
traveled to the officially named Arab Republic of Egypt – to one of
the most Anti-African Arab nations, geographically and politically
located in Africa, Except for the Nubians and perhaps Coptic
Christians, a lot of today's Egyptian invaders have zero indigenous

Racism is the lowest,
most crudely primitive form of collectivism. Primitive peoples have
always attacked other tribes because they saw them as a threat,
Racism is a virus that has
embedded itself into the heart and soul of Arab Muslim nations. Arab
Muslims are more racist than Europeans.
For example, the highest and the
lowest level of Humanity is the choice and the capability of being
-or not being- empathetic.
Empathy, is the only single
thing in the grand scale of civilization, that let's a human be
human. Every single event you see, splashed through the entire scheme
of history, every move, every disaster, every betterment comes down
as a result of just one thing. If those involved- used empathy? Did
they Choose to think from someone else's point of view? Did they take
into account how much the other, because of them or not, is being
harmed? Did they help, did they stop? Or did they choose to turn a

Empathetic. It's the highest
level in the road to betterment, in my opinion, humanity can reach.
Social Darwinism and racism
Social Darwinism is a social
theory that emerged in the late 19th century, inspired by Charles
Darwin's theory of evolution and natural selection. Proponents of
this ideology argued that human societies, like biological species,
are engaged in a struggle for survival, with certain races or groups
deemed more "fit" to succeed than others. This belief
system often supported racist ideologies, suggesting that the
dominance of European powers over African and Asian peoples was a
natural outcome of their perceived superiority. Social Darwinists
portrayed non-European races as less evolved, reinforcing harmful
stereotypes and justifying practices such as slavery and imperialism.
Although Darwin himself rejected these applications of his theory,
the views associated with Social Darwinism resonated with prevailing
racist attitudes of the time. Beyond racial considerations, Social
Darwinism also categorized individuals based on socioeconomic status,
contending that the wealthy were inherently more capable of survival
than the poor. While Social Darwinism has largely fallen out of favor
as a coherent ideology, elements of its legacy can still be seen in
contemporary discussions around genetic factors and societal
inequalities.
To Social Darwinists, the
conquest of African and Asian peoples in the late nineteenth century
by European empires proved the superiority of the white “race.”
White Europeans had supposedly reached the pinnacle of evolution,
while other races remained at a more primitive stage of development.
In particular, Social Darwinists portrayed Africans as childlike and
appraised their mental abilities as rudimentary. They regarded
Africans as close cousins of the ape rather than fully human. In the
United States, this attitude justified the enslavement of Africans.
Champions of slavery pointed to the civilizing influence of
captivity, claiming that slaves would regress to a barbaric state if
released.
It should be noted that Social
Darwinists focused on other factors besides race. They characterized
the poor, even of their own race or nationality, as relatively less
equipped for survival than the prosperous middle and upper classes.
Wealth itself suggested the fitness of the wealthy, and Social
Darwinists held welfare programs and charity to be an interference
with the natural law that had decreed the demise of the destitute in
the interests of the race. Social Darwinist principles also became
associated with the imperialist struggle between the so-called
advanced nations. According to the ethos prevailing among European
states in the late nineteenth century, the state that was most
successful in subjugating other peoples around the world and crowding
out its imperial rivals had the greatest claim to survival. In this
sense, Africans suffered both directly as a consequence of the racist
content of Social Darwinism and indirectly because of the resulting
contest between European states over control of the African
continent. Though Social Darwinism has all but disappeared as an
ideology, the debate over such issues as genetic determinants of
intelligence demonstrates that its legacy lives on.
