😇 አንድ ቀን ነብዩ ኤልያስ ጸሎት እያደረገ ሳለ መልአኩ ቅዱስ ራጉኤል ተገልጾ፡-
"ኃላፊ፣ ጠፊ የኾኑ ሕሊናትን ያሸነፍህ፤ ሞትንም ድል ያደረግህ ተጋዳይ ሆይ ፈጽሞ ደስ ይበልህ፡፡ ወደ ሰማይ የምታርግበት ዘመን ደርሷልና፡፡ ፍጹም ደስታ፣ ፈገግታ፣ ተድላ ከሰፈነበት አገር ትኖራለህ፡፡ ደዌ፣ በሽታ፣ ሞት፣ ኀዘን ከሌለበት፤ በረከት፣ ከሞላበት ቤትም ትገባለህ፡፡ በዚያም የልዑል እግዚአብሔርን ትእዛዝ የሚጽፍ እንደ አንተ ያለ ሄኖክ አለ፡፡ አሁንም ተነሥና ዮርዳኖስን ተሻግረህ ሒድ" አለው፡፡

እንኳን ለ ለታላቁ ነብይ ለቅዱስ ኤልያስ ዓመታዊ ክብረ በዓል (የልደት ቀን)አደረሳችሁ፥ አደረሰን፡፡
ባለፉት ስድስት ወራት ከነብዩ ኤልያስ፣ ነብዩ ሔኖክ፣ ከፓትርያርክ አባታችን ቅዱስ ሔኖክ፣ ከቅዱስ ራጉኤልና ቅዱስ ጴጥሮስ ጋር በተያያዘ ተዓምር ልላቸው የምችላቸውን አስገራሚ ክስተቶች እየታዘብኩ ነው። በዚህች ምድራችን ላይ ብቻ ሳይሆን በተለይ ፀሐይ ላይ የሆነ ዓለምን ሊለውጥ የሚችል ክስተት በእነዚህ ቀናት እየታዘብን ነው። ከእነ ነብያቱ ሔኖክ እና ኤልያስ መምጣት ጋር የሚገናኝ ክስተት ይሆን? የሆነ ትልቅ ነገር ይሰማኛል!
በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ውስጥ ካሉት ቅዱሳን ነብያት ዝናም በማቆም ብቸኛው ነብይ ቅዱስ ኤልያስ በዘመነ ነገሥታት ከነበሩ ነቢያት አንዱ ነው፤ አባቱ ኢያሴንዩ እናቱ ደግሞ ቶና ይባላሉ፤ አባትና እናቱ በምግባር አሳደጉት፤ ከዚያም ወደ ገዳም ሄደ በጾምና በጾሎት በብሕትውና (በገዳም) ኖረ፤ እርሱ በነበረበት ዘመን ንጉሥ አክአብና ሚስቱ ኤልዛቤል የተባሉ ነበሩ፤ እነዚህ ሰዎች እግዚአብሔርን የማያምኑ በጣዖት የሚያመልኩ ነበሩ፤ ድሮ በኢሎፍላውያን እጅ የነበሩት ጣዖታት (ዳጐንና ቤል) በዚያ ዘመን ወደ እስራኤል ገብተው ነበር። ነብዩ ኤልያስ ግን በዚህ ክፉ ትውልድ መካከል ሆኖም ሥርዓተ ኦሪትን የሚያውቅና እግዚአብሔርን የሚያመልክ ሰው ነበር። በዚያ ወራትም እግዚአብሔር ለነብይነት ጠራው። እርሱም “እሺ” ብሎ ታዝዞ የእግዚአብሔርን የጸጋ ጥሪ ተቀበለ። ነብዩ ኤልያስ ብዙ ጊዜ ለጉዳይ ካልሆነ ከሰው ጋር መዋል ማደርን አይወድምና መኖሪያውን በተራሮችና በዱር አደረገ፤ በተለይ ደብረ ቀርሜሎስ ለእርሱ ቤቱ ነበር። (ድርሳን ነብዩ ኤልያስ የታኅሣሥ ወር)
ውድ እግዚአብሔር ልጆች! ሕዝቡን እግዚአብሔር ከክፉ ነገር እየጠበቀ፣ የእርሱን ስጦታ እየተመገበ ይኖር ነበር፤ እነርሱ ግን ለቤል (ለበዓል) ለተባለ ጣዖት የሚሰግዱ ነበሩ። ይህን ጊዜ ግን ነብዩ ኤልያስ ወደ አክአብ ዘንድ ሄዶ ጣዖት ማምለክ እንደ ሌለበት ሳይፈራ ገሠጸው፤ (ተቆጣው) ጣዖት የሚያመልክ ከሆነ የሚመጣውን መከራ እንዲህ በማለት ነገረው፦ ‹‹በፊቱ የቆምኩት እስራኤል አምላክ ሕያው እግዚአብሔርን ከአፌ ቃል በቀር በእነዚህ ዓመታት ጠልና ዝናም አይሆንም፤ (፩ኛመጽሐፈ ነገሥት ፲፯፥፩) ለሦስት ዓመት ከስድስት ወር ዝናም ከሰማይ እንዳይወርድ ተከለከለ። ሕዝቡ በኃጢአቱና ጣዖት በማምለኩ ምክንያት ዝናም ስላልዘነበ እህል በማጣት ተጐዳ። ነብዩ ኤልያስን ግን አምላካችን በዋሻ ተቀምጦ ቁራ የሚበላውን እያመጣለት ይመግበው፣ ምንጭ ፈልቆለት ይጠጣ ነበር።
ከዚያም እግዚአብሔር ሕዝቡ በረኀብ እንደተጎዳ ይመለከት ዘንድ ለነብዩ ኤልያስ ምግብ ይወስድለት የነበረውን ቁራ አስቀረበት፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስም ምግብ ፍለጋ ሰራፕታ ወደ ተባለ ሥፍራ ሄደ፤ በዚያም ነብዩ ባሏ የሞተባትና ዮናስ የተባለ ልጅ የነበራትን ሴት አገኘ፤ እርሷም እንጐቻ ጋግራ ብታበላው ቤቷን በበረከት ሞላው። ታዲያ አንድ ቀን ልጇ ታሞ ሞተባት፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስም በጸሎቱ የሞተውን ልጇን (ሕፃኑ ዮናስን) ከሞትም በጸሎቱ አስነሳላት። (፩ኛነገሥት ፲፯፥፲፯)
ውድ የእግዚአብሔር ልጆች! ነብዩ ኤልያስ “ለምን ጣዖት ታመልካላችሁ” በማለት ዝናም እንዳይዘንብ ቢያደርግም እግዚአብሔር ለሕዝቡ አዘነ፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስም ወደ እግዚአብሔር ጸልዮ ለሦስት ዓመት ከስድስት ወር የዘጋውን ሰማይ ከፍቶት ዝናም እንዲዘንብ አደረገ፤ ሕዝቡንም ሰብስቦ ጣዖት የሚያመልኩም መጥተው መሥዋዕት እንዲሠው አስደረገ፤ ነገር ግን ያመልኩ የነበረው ራሳቸው ሰዎች የሠሩትን ጣዖት ነውና ጣዖቱ ጸሎታቸውን አልሰማቸውም፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስ ግን ገና የእግዚአብሔርን ስም ሲጠራ መሥዋዕቱን ተቀበለለት፤ በዚህም ለሕዝቡ የጣዖታትን ከንቱነት እንዲሁም የእግዚአብሔርን አምላክነት ተረድተው አመኑ፤ ንግሥት ኤልዛቤልም ይህንን ስትሰማ እያልን ልትገድለው ባለች ጊዜ ከፊቷ ፈቀቅ አለ፡፡ (ወደ ሌላ ቦታ ሄደ)
ውድ የእግዚአብሔር ልጆች! ነብዩ ኤልያስ በዘመኑ ብዙ ድንቅ ነገርን አድርጓል፤ ስለ እውነት ይመሰክር ነበር፤ ለተበደሉ ይከራከር ነበር፤ ለምሳሌ አንድ ጊዜ ኤልዛቤል የተባለችው ንግሥት ናቡቴ የተባለን ሰው አስገድላ መሬቱን ነጠቀችው፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስም ሳይፈራ ወደ ንጉሡ እና ሚስቱ በመሄድ ናቡቴን ገድለው መሬቱን መንጠቅ እንደሌለባቸው በማስገንዘብ ተናገራቸው፤ በዚህም ሊገድሉት አሳደዱት፤ እርሱ ግን እግዚአብሔር ከእርሱ ጋር ነበርና ሊገድሉት አልቻሉም፤ ነብዩ ኤልያስ ብዙ ድንቅ ተአምራትን እያደረገ፣ ስለ እግዚአብሔር እያስተማረ፣ ሰዎች ከጣዖት አምልኮ እንዲወጡ እየመከረ ከኖረ በኋላ ከዚህ ምድር የሚለይበት ጊዜ ደረሰ፤ የእርሱ ደቀ መዝሙር ለነበረው ነብዩ ኤልሳዕ መጎናጸፊያውን ሰጠው፤ እግዚአብሔርም በእሳት ሠረገላ ጭኖ ወደ ብሔረ ሕያዋን (የቅዱሳን ሰዎች መኖሪያ) ወሰደው፡፡
ውድ የእግዚአብሔር ልጆች! ነብዩ ኤልያስ ታሪኩ ብዙ ነው፤ በተለይ በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ በመጽሐፈ ነገሥት ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፤ እኛ ግን ለግንዛቤ እንዲሆናችሁ ጥቂቱን ታሪክ ነገርናችሁ፤ ብዙ ቁም ነገር እንደምትቀስሙ ተስፋ እናደርጋለን፤ ከነብዩ ኤልያስ ታሪክ የዓለማት ፈጣሪ እግዚአብሔር እንደሆነ፣ ጣዖት ማምለክ እንደማይገባ፣ እንደ ኤልዛቤል በሰዎች ላይ ክፋት ማድረግ እንደማያስፈልግ፣ እንደ ነብዩ ኤልያስ ስለ እውነት መመስከር እንደሚገባ፣ በእግዚአብሔር መታመን፣ ጾመኛ፣ ጸሎተኛ፣ ለተበደሉና ለተቸገሩ መርዳት እንዳለብን እንማራለን፡፡
ነብዩን ኤልያስን ንጉሥ አክአብና ኤልዛቤል ሊገድሉት ሲሉ እግዚአብሔር ከእነርሱ ከልሎ በዋሻ ውስጥ አስቀምጦ አሞራ ምግቡን እንዲያመጣለት እንዳደረገ ሁሉ እግዚአብሔር ለሚታመኑት፣ ከልብ ለሚከተሉት፣ እውነትን ለሚናገሩና ለሰው ለሚያዝኑ እርሱም እንደሚረዳቸውም ተመልክተናል፤ ስለዚህም በሃይማኖታችን የጸናንና በምግባር የጎለበትን እንሁን! ሥነ ምግባር ያለው፣ ለወላጆች ታዛዥ፣ በሁሉ ነገር ጎበዝና፣ ንቁ ልጆች ልንሆን ያስፈልጋል!
የነብዩ ኤልያስ ዓመታዊ ክብረ በዓል ታኅሣሥ አንድ ቀን እና ጥር ስድስት ቀን ይከበራል፡።

As Elijah crossed the Jordan River into the living nations, the believers born of the water and the Holy Spirit will inherit the kingdom of God. Our Lord said in the Gospel of John that "a person who is not born again cannot see the kingdom of God."
The prophet Elijah was one of the fifteen prophets (Moses, Joshua, Samuel, Jonathan, Gad, David, Solomon, Elisha, Ezra, Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and John the Baptist).
