ታዋቂው ደራሲ እና 'መሲሃዊ' ረቢ ጆናታን ካህን ከቁጥጥር ውጪ ሆኖ በአውሮፕላን መቀመጫ ላይ ቱቦ ቴፕ ማድረግ ስለሚያስፈልገው አንድ ሰው ቁጣውን የሳበው እሱ ስሙ ያልተጠቀሰው ተሳፋሪ መሆኑን ከገለጸ በኋላ ዋና ዜናዎችን እያወጣ ነው።

ብዙ የኢትዮጵያ ክርስቲያኖች ትችቱን እጅግ አክብሮት የጎደለው እና ለጥንታዊ ቅርሶቻቸው እና ለቤተክርስቲያን ታሪካቸው ስድብ አድርገው ይመለከቱታል። የክርክሩ ዋና ክፍል "የቃል ኪዳኑ ታቦት በኢትዮጵያ ነውን? የንጉሥ ሰሎሞን ልጅ ታቦቱን ከቤተመቅደስ 'ሰርቆታልን'?" በሚል ርዕስ ባስተማረው ትምህርት፣ ዮናታን ካህን በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተክርስቲያን የተያዘውን ባህላዊ ትረካ ተናግሯል። ይህ ባህል፣ በአብዛኛው ከጥንታዊው ጽሑፍ የተገኘው፣ ክብረ ነገስት፣ የሳባ ንግሥት ከኢትዮጵያ እንደሆነች እና ከንጉሥ ሰሎሞን ቀዳማዊ ምኒልክ የተባለ ወንድ ልጅ እንደወለደች ይገልጻል፣ እሱም በኋላ ላይ እውነተኛውን የቃል ኪዳኑን ታቦት ወደ አክሱም፣ ኢትዮጵያ ያመጣው።

አታላይው ካህን ይህንን አባባል በርካታ ተቃውሞዎችን በማስነሳት ውድቅ አድርጎታል፡-

• የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ክርክሮች፡ ካህን ታቦቱ በኢየሩሳሌም በታሪክ አሁንም በታሪክ እንደነበረ ለማረጋገጥ 2 ዜና መዋዕል 35፡3ን ጠቅሷል፣ ይህ የጊዜ መስመር የኢትዮጵያን ታሪክ ሙሉ በሙሉ ውድቅ ያደርገዋል በማለት ይከራከራል።

• የቤተክርስቲያን ታሪክ ውድቅ ማድረግ፡- የኢትዮጵያን ታሪካዊ ባህል "ተረት" እና "አፈ ታሪኮች" ሲል ጠርቶታል፣ ታሪኩ "በጭስ ይወጣል" በማለት በግልጽ በመግለጽ፣ እንደ ትርጓሜው፣ መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ በሰሎሞን እና በንግሥት ሳባ መካከል ስለተፈጠረው ግንኙነት አይጠቅስም፣ እና እሷ መጀመሪያዋ ከኢትዮጵያ እንዳልሆነች ይናገራል።
